Medical Devices and Diagnostics
Medical Devices and Diagnostics (i.e. MedTech) is an exciting industry at the intersection of engineering, science, and human health. A wave of advances in technology is making new devices possible such as biologically modified chips, artificial intelligence for diagnostics, and remote surgical equipment. The seminar will be in the form of a workshop brainstorming on the future of medical devices and information about the education and career paths available to be successful in the industries future.
Dr. Anna Iwaniec Hickerson, PhD, Assistant Professor and Program Director, Master of Business and Science
Dr. Hickerson received her BS in Engineering and Applied Science (2000) and her PhD in Bioengineering (2005) from the California Institute of Technology. She joined KGI in 2005 and has worked on the design of multiple diagnostic instruments including subsystems in sample preparation, amplification, and detection of nucleic acids.
