National Hispanic Heritage Month corresponds with Mexican Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16, and recognizes the revolution in 1810 that ended Spanish dictatorship. The month traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans, and celebrates a heritage rooted in all Latin American countries.
