20 for 20 Trustee Giving Challenge Begins as KGI Looks Ahead to Anniversary

Throughout its 20-year history, Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) has been passionate about student success and translational research.

With KGI’s 20th Anniversary taking place from July 2017 to July 2018, the year-long event is an incredible opportunity to celebrate 20 years of innovation and discovery. Today, KGI has launched the 20 for 20 Trustee Giving Challenge.

The goal? To raise a total of $20,000 to honor KGI’s 20th Anniversary. A group of generous KGI trustees has committed a total of $10,000 to match gifts made between April 10 and May 10, dollar for dollar.

“We’re grateful to our Challenger Trustees: Karen Bernstein, Daniel Bradbury, Stephen Eck, Ross Grossman, Lydia Villa-Komaroff, Regan Shea, Arthur Riggs, and President Sheldon Schuster,” said Kelly Esperias, KGI vice president for institutional development. “Together, they’ve pledged an additional $10,000 for this challenge ON TOP of their regular support to KGI. I’m confident this leadership giving will inspire others to make gifts of all sizes to support the KGI Fund.”

What may not seem like a big gift has twice the impact during the challenge. Even small gifts are matched, dollar for dollar. They add up to provide supplies like the test tubes, pipettes, and beakers used in the student lab. Donations also provide career services, guest speakers, and other networking opportunities.

“This challenge is an awesome opportunity to double your gift’s impact between now and May 10th,” said Molly Chestnut, KGI senior director of advancement and giving. “Even small gifts add up! Help us blow the $10,000 goal out of the water so we can unlock the $10,000 in matching funds from the trustees! Every dollar helps KGI and its students.”

With your help, there’s no telling what the next 20 years could bring for KGI. Are you up for the 20 for 20 Trustee Giving Challenge? Double your gift’s impact today. Visit www.kgi.edu/20for20 to give!
