PA Summer Success Program to Begin in 2021

Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) has added a new summer program to its growing list of opportunities designed to bolster students’ academic careers: The PA Summer Success Program (PASS), which is intended to inform, excite, and empower high school, college, and post-graduate students to pursue a career as a physician assistant (PA).

The five-day online program, slated for June 14-18, 2021, will provide attendees with information about the profession, real PA perspectives, and engaging clinical scenarios. PASS will conclude with information about applying to PA school, including admissions applications, financial aid, and successful interviewing.

After the program, attendees will better understand the PA profession, possible career paths, and the tools needed to start the journey.

“We are so excited to be able to offer this new program about the physician assistant profession!” said Sonia Otte, founding program director and professor of practice for KGI’s Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA) program.

“We are inviting students across the country to join us online this summer to engage with us and get real insight on 2021’s Best Job (according to U.S. News and World Report).”

In July of 2020, Otte was hired to guide the MSPA program, slated to launch in fall 2022. Students interested in becoming a physician assistant can get a head start by attending PASS.
