Professor Tyrrell, who joined KGI in September 2017, is an established pharmaceutical executive with a passion for driving marketing strategy and business development within specialty medicines. He joined the KGI School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) in Boston, where he served as the associate dean and chair of the Pharmaceutical Business and Administrative Sciences Department within the School of Pharmacy, and was an associate professor from 2011-2017.

Prior to MCPHS, he spent 34 years in the biopharmaceutical industry where he worked his way up from sales representative to senior vice president. His record of success is exemplified through his international commercial expertise in oncology, and domestically in oncology, CNS, infectious disease, and metabolism (diabetes and obesity).
