Dr. Roosan is an Assistant Professor of Administrative Sciences in KGI’s School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Before joining KGI, he was a faculty at Baylor College of Medicine and research scientist at the Houston VA Medical Center. He has been the recipient and principal investigator of grants from Agency of Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ) and National Institute of Health (NIH).
He has extensive working experiences in retail, hospitals, clinics, long-term care, infusion services and many other clinical pharmacy settings. His project experiences in informatics include startups, creating innovative health information technology platforms as well as extensive research on health care data visualization. His passion in research revolves around applying cognition, information foraging and operationalizing Big Data in health care to improve quality and reduce costs.
Dr. Roosan is actively involved in the design of health information technology in the context of health care and pharmacy. His informatics background coupled with clinical pharmacy experiences brings unique opportunities for students and faculty to collaborate and create an innovative learning environment. His teaching experience includes human-computer interactions, Big Data in health care and informatics courses. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Utah, School of Medicine and PharmD from Purdue University, School of Pharmacy.
