With over five years of student counseling experience, Kat Wang is responsible for domestic and global recruitment, external relationship management, and biotech career coaching. Her postdoc career coaching workshop was delivered at NIH Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, Experiential Biology Conference, and City of Hope.
Partnering with faculty, alumni and industry, she has hosted the 20th IEEE SoCal Biotech Contest at KGI, Biology Hackathon at University of California Riverside, and Biotech Bootcamps in many local campuses. Meanwhile, as an active STEM education advocate, she has secured over $10,000 scholarship per student for diversity inclusion. Currently, she is working closely with China’s Ministry of Education and the Commission on Affiliation of Professional Science Master’s Programs to launch PSM programs in China.
Prior to KGI, Wang was an International Student Coordinator at Harvey Mudd College and a Senior Writing Consultant in the Mays Business School & University Writing Center at Texas A&M University. Kat Wang is multilingual in Mandarin and Cantonese. She has a MS in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University and a BA in Marketing.
