Year: 2017-18
Company: BioMarin
Liaison(s): Michael Vigarino
Last year, BioMarin developed a future state road map detailing the process improvements that were to be made to OTC. To ensure the investment in the OTC enhancements are having a positive impact, the BioMarin OTC team requires a mature metric-based monitoring and auditing system to measure the effect of process modifications.
This year’s OTC TMP team was tasked with gathering OTC metrics relevant to BioMarin’s needs across its OTC business models as well as a governance plan detailing the best practices to manage metric maintenance and performance review. To produce these final deliverables, the KGI team conducted a broad literature review to gain a better understanding of general OTC process and collect generic metrics. The team then interviewed subject matter experts (SME), mostly within BioMarin, to add and verify metrics in their growing catalogue, determine the risks and barriers to the implementation of each metric, and develop a RACI and scenario-based governance plan for the management metrics. The final metric catalogue and implementation plan will be utilized and modified by BioMarin as it deems appropriate to effectively monitor OTC process changes.
