Join us for BEE United: KGI Alumni Celebration, a signature event designed to bring together alumni, students, faculty, staff, and industry leaders for a day of connection, mentorship, and celebration.

This event is part of KGI’s commitment to celebrating alumni impact, strengthening student-alumni relationships, and highlighting industry connectivity.

Distinguished Alumni Awards

Professional Achievement Award

Honors an alum who has demonstrated significant career advancement, leadership, and innovation in the life sciences sector.

Volunteer Service Award

Celebrates an alum who exemplifies mentorship, inclusion, and giving back to the KGI community.

Selection Criteria for Professional Achievement

Nominees will be evaluated based on the following:
  1. Professional Impact
    • Clear demonstration of career advancement, leadership roles, and/or industry recognition.
    • Contributions to scientific, clinical, regulatory, or commercial innovation.
  2. Thought Leadership
    • Participation in speaking engagements, publications, or leadership in professional organizations.
    • Influence within their company, field, or broader industry community.
  3. KGI Representation
    • Embodies the values of a KGI education (innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership).
    • Promotes the visibility and reputation of KGI through their work and achievements.
  4. Years Since Graduation (recommended guideline)
    • Must be at least 5 years post-graduation.
  5. KGI Community can nominate alumni
    • Recognized by peers, faculty, staff, or students as someone who demonstrates career accomplishment.
    • Nomination can be self-nominated.

Selection Criteria for Volunteer Award

Nominees will be evaluated based on the following:
  1. Mentorship & Coaching
    • Actively supports current students or recent grads through career coaching, mentorship, internships, or supervisor.
    • Serves as a resource or guide for others navigating education or industry.
  2. Inclusion & Belonging
    • Advocates for students/alumni in biotech, healthcare, or academia.
    • Actively fosters a culture of belonging and access across their networks or workplace.
  3. KGI Engagement
    • Regularly volunteers, connects with students, stays in touch with classmates and the KGI Alumni Network, speaks at events, participates in Resumania, Career Services events, mentorship programs, advisory boards, or alumni committees.
    • Has a strong track record of giving back time, talent or treasure.
  4. Campus-Nominated Impact
    • Recognized by campus leaders who demonstrate giving back.
