#GiveTueKGI Campaign Exceeds Goal, Raises $45,194 to Support Innovators

Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) concluded its six-week long #GiveTueKGI campaign on Dec. 31, exceeding its goal by 50 percent and raising $45,194 to support student innovators, scientists, pharmacists, leaders, entrepreneurs, pioneers, researchers, and change makers.

The campaign, which started on Nov. 28 with the global Giving Tuesday movement, witnessed a 131 percent increase in dollars donated compared to last year’s fall giving campaign, with a donor participation increase of 225 percent from last fall, and a 98 percent student participation increase.

“A huge, heartfelt thank you to our donors who believe in the power and possibility of our students and alumni who are changing the world,” said Christa Oudshoorn-Hobo, alumni and parent engagement manager at KGI. “The generosity of our donors has blown us away.”

Donors had the option of directing their gifts toward five different areas: scholarships, professional development, faculty support and research, nuts and bolts (facility upkeep), and innovation.

Students, faculty, and staff comprised almost three-quarters of all donations. Additionally, the KGI School of Pharmacy witnessed a 100 percent class participation rate from students. Of the 20 student classes (comprised of alumni and current students), the class of 2011 raised the most money.Giving infographic
