Hello everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing long weekend just like I did. I caught up on a lot of sleep and cooked a lot food as well, so that I do not end up starving this week. This week has been really interesting so far. I would like to give you all a quick insight on the subjects that I have taken this semester. The first one is my favorite with Professor Motyka, which is Marketing Management; you should definitely take this one if you are interested in the business of the biotech industry. It gives you a complete outline of how marketing varies with respect to the pharmaceutical industry. Besides that, the four core courses this semester include Corporate Finance, Bioscience Strategy, Medical Devices and Healthcare, and Life Science Industry Ethics. I am a little worried about Corporate Finance because I do not have a business background, but the professor is great so hopefully I won’t have to worry too much! The other subjects are not too difficult either but with KGI the one thing I would recommend is that you definitely need to work on time management skills.

One of the most happening events for me this week was my trip to San Diego on Friday for the final round of internship interviews with Illumina. I had the wonderful opportunity to go down and visit their campus and the five-hour-long interview experience loaded with group and team-building activities was definitely a wonderful experience. I learned so much from the trip – practicing interviews is something that helps you realize what you need to keep working on until you nail that perfect job in the end. I am really looking forward for a positive answer from their end, but if not, it was still a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. Anyway, that is all I have to fill you in on this week. Stay tuned in for more exciting updates next week!
