KGI Adds Biotech Career Speaker Series to 2021 Summer Programs Slate

Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) has added a new summer program to its growing list of opportunities designed to bolster students’ academic careers: The Biotech Career Speakers Series (BCSS). The online, five-week program will introduce students to potential careers in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other biomedical industries.

Scheduled from June 14 through July 16, BCSS participants will learn about a wide range of career alternatives from young professionals working in these industries. The speakers are drawn from the more than 700 alumni of KGI’s pathbreaking Master of Business and Science (MBS) program.

BCSS is best suited for students who are earlier in their career planning (such as lower-division undergraduates), as well as those who cannot commit to a more full-time, rigorous summer program.

“We are excited to add this new program to KGI’s summer docket,” said Joel West, KGI Professor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and MBS Program Director.

“BCSS is a great introduction to so many careers within industry.”

The wide range of biomedical speakers includes expertise in consulting; clinical and regulatory affairs; finance; marketing; operations/supply chain; project management; chemistry, manufacturing, and controls; clinical trials; quality; market access/reimbursement; and regulatory affairs.
