KGI to Host Oasis KGI Commons Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on October 2

In celebrating the shift to becoming a residential campus, Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) will host the Oasis KGI Commons Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

As KGI’s first-ever housing complex, Oasis KGI Commons will strengthen the collaborative and innovative spirit that exists among the KGI and Claremont Colleges communities. The new apartment complex is open to KGI students, Claremont Graduate University students, and The Claremont Colleges faculty and staff.

“We are looking forward to hosting the Claremont community for this historic event!” KGI President Sheldon Schuster said. “The South Village area is transforming and Oasis KGI Commons is a tremendous addition to our campus and the City of Claremont.”

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Oct. 2 will feature several local food vendors, including Bert & Rocky’s Cream Company, Bon Appétit, Café X2O, Gus’s BBQ, Paradis Claremont, and Pepo Melo.

Event attendees will also be able to tour the Oasis KGI Commons, which features a pool, fitness center, 10,000-square feet of classroom space, the Gayle Carson Riggs Student Center, and more. For additional info on Oasis KGI Commons, visit americancampus.com/student-apartments/ca/claremont/oasis.
