Program Details

YEAR 1

In the first year, students build a solid foundation in pharmaceutics and drug action principles, along with an advanced understanding of the pharmacological basis for mitigating disease and illness in major organ systems: cardiovascular, endocrine, and urinary. Students also gain expertise in pharmacokinetics and pharmacy law and ethics, in addition to intentional exposure to the biopharmaceutical industry.

In the summer, students will gain hands-on experience through an internship or faculty-directed research in a pharmaceutical sciences area of interest.

YEAR 2

In the second year, students continue to advance their understanding of the pharmacological principles essential to treating disease and illness in the areas of nephrology and gastroenterology, while broadening their knowledge of fundamentals of medical affairs, and gaining experience in data analytics and bioinformatics, as well as pharmacogenomics and precision medicine. Students will also complete their capstone project during their second year.
