Dear KGI community,
As you may have heard earlier today, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the use of affirmative action in college admissions. Although KGI is not affected by the decision, we are disheartened by the court’s ruling, and I want to share our reaction to it.
KGI has been, and will continue to be, committed to ensuring diversity across and within our community. The KGI admissions process focuses on a holistic and personalized view of the individual and their potential to bring excellence to our schools and the communities they choose to work in after KGI.
It has always been our practice to promote a transparent and inclusive application process that evaluates applicants through a lens that considers not only GPA and test scores but also each candidate's individual experience, perspectives, and capabilities.
The ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court will not change our commitment to ensuring the diversity of individuals and ideas on campus, nor will it change our dedication to help everyone excel and thrive as future leaders in science and health care.
Sincerely,
Sheldon M. Schuster, PhDKGI President
