Garrett had served as KGI’s interim Vice President of Finance and Administration and CFO since September 2024.

“I’m honored and excited to serve KGI as Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer,” said Garrett. “I’m deeply inspired by KGI’s mission at the intersection of science, healthcare, and innovation, and I look forward to advancing the financial strategies that support our academic excellence, research, student success, and long-term sustainability. It’s a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated and forward-thinking community, and I’m energized by the opportunity to help position KGI for continued growth and lasting impact.”

Garrett will report directly to President Mohamed Abousalem, and will provide strategic leadership to the Institute’s Facilities, Finance, Financial Aid, and Information Technology departments.

“Trevor’s leadership over the past year has been instrumental as we have placed a major emphasis on maturing the institution in a fiscally sustainable way,” said President Abousalem. “I look forward to continuing to work with Trevor and his team as we accelerate KGI’s growth and elevate its excellence.”

Before the interim appointment, Garrett served as KGI’s Assistant Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis and Director of Finance and Budget for six years, during which he successfully developed and managed financial budgets, launched institutional programs and policies, negotiated multi-million-dollar agreements, provided oversight and project management of several large-scale initiatives, and partnered with The Claremont Colleges’ financial services operations. Prior to KGI, Garrett served in various financial management positions at other institutions. Garrett holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Bangalore University, a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Argosy University, and a few other finance and accounting certificates and diplomas.
