Joshua Morris, PhD
Dr. Joshua Morris currently serves as the Associate Vice Provost of Academic Effectiveness and Faculty Development and the Joe and Vi Jacobs Professor of Ethics at KGI.
As Associate Vice Provost, Dr. Morris leads efforts related to academic accreditation, academic program performance, and institutional research, and faculty development, each to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of KGI programs. Dr. Morris also serves as KGI’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) to the WASC Senior Colleges and University Commission (WSCUC).
Dr. Morris came to KGI from Azusa Pacific University (APU), where he most recently served as the Interim Associate Provost of Educational Effectiveness and Professor of Biology. During his nearly twenty-year tenure at APU, he held numerous academic and administrative positions including Assistant Chair of Biology and Chemistry, Honors Faculty Fellow, Faculty Fellow in Faculty Evaluation, Faculty Moderator, and Director of Institutional Research. He has also taught various courses (including- developmental biology, genetics, cell biology, neurobiology, ethics, and the history and philosophy of science) at APU, California State Polytechnic Institute, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona), and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Morris received a B.S. in Biology from Cal Poly Pomona and earned his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCLA.
