What first got you interested in your field of choice?
As a person who enjoys learning about science, what got me interested more in the field, is the important role of Pharmacists in the community. They provide safety using their knowledge in drugs by guiding, counseling, and making sure that patients are taking the right medications. They are the last line of safety in the healthcare treatment domino. In addition, they serve as drug information experts and allies to physicians when it comes to patient outcomes to ensure effective and appropriate treatment.
What type of obstacles have you had to overcome on the road to getting your education?
I moved to the US when I was 16 and a junior in high school. I quickly had to find new friends, acclimate myself to schools and a different lifestyles. It was a difficult transition, I had to work harder to get to where I am today, and I still have to work harder to achieve success in the future. I am also my worst critique and a perfectionist when it comes to myself and my career, and I struggled with continuous doubt within myself, but with time and support from friends and family, I was able to overcome them.
How did you know that KGI was the right school for you?
KGI’s small community caught my attention. Coming from a California State- University, I appreciate an environment where I don’t feel like I am just a number. From the beginning, KGI has been attentive in responding to my questions in a timely manner, offered assistance if needed when it comes to financial questions and concerns, and most importantly very welcoming and friendly. No other Pharmacy school at the time made me feel like I was already part of the community like KGI did.
Why did you want to become an Admissions Ambassador?
I am proud and happy to represent KGI. I wanted to give back to the school, showcase my support, and at the same time sharpen my leadership and communication skills. I wanted to share my experience with potential students. KGI
