KGI Student Success Fund Application

In Spring 2019, Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) launched the Student Success Fund. Sometimes students experience roadblocks on their way to graduation: unforeseen emergencies, needs for additional support, and sometimes life-altering events.

Until the fund was established in Spring 2019, KGI had not had a fund dedicated to help students overcome these roadblocks. The KGI Student Success Fund ensures that we can move these roadblocks together and help get all KGI students across the commencement stage and on their way to rewarding careers in the life sciences and healthcare.

Funding is available for, but not limited to:

  • Unexpected expenses related to internships.
  • Non-tuition costs arising from co-curricular programs.
  • Registration, travel and lodging costs incurred for professional and career development conferences, seminars and workshops.
  • Expenses related to student research and assignments, such as rotations, which might require additional travel and lodging costs beyond what is covered by tuition.
  • Participation in experiential-learning programs.

Please be aware that:

  • The Student Success Fund is only available to currently enrolled students at KGI.
  • Funding requests are accepted year-round and are not guaranteed.
  • Awards will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the high volume of requests, students will only be notified if funds become available.
  • Awards are given in the form of a one-time stipend and limited to one per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).
  • The Financial Aid Office is notified of all stipends. Stipends qualify as part of a student’s financial aid package. Therefore, a stipend might reduce other financial aid that you have been awarded, depending on the type of aid received. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the Financial Aid Office with any questions regarding your financial aid package.
