Huntley Bookstore was established in 1969 as a central service of The Claremont Colleges. The bookstore is housed in a 23,000-square foot building made possible by a gift of the Earl W. Huntley Foundation. Mr. Huntley served as a member of the Board of Fellows of The Claremont Colleges until 1955.
The bookstore used 14,283 square feet for a sales area, storage, and offie space. The bookstore has apparel and gift items, office supplies, trade books, an Apple Campus Store and repair center, and is a shipping hub that serves the community at large as well as the students, faculty, and staff. Designed by Jones & Emmons Architects, it is a contemporary post and beam structure making extensive use of concrete block, glass, and exposed wood.
