Student Health Insurance

  • Our institution has selected United Healthcare as our domestic student insurance provider. If you are currently covered by a comparable plan, you may waive out of the insurance plan. To waive out of the student health insurance plan, please click here. If you do not complete a waiver for student health insurance you will be automatically charged $6,173 for the 2020-2021 academic year.

    Student Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan

  • Our institution has selected Partnering in Global Health as our international student insurance provider. All full time KGI international students living in the United states are required to have health insurance. All full time KGI international students are required to complete the International Student Health Insurance Information form.

    If you are currently covered by a comparable plan, you may waive out of the insurance plan by emailing your health insurance coverage to Andrea Mozqueda at amozqueda@kgi.edu.

    All international students must complete the Student Health Insurance Information Form.

  • Go to the domestic health insurance waiver website by clicking here. If you only see “Get started here” click on “student resources” at the top left and it will lead you to a page that reads “type in your school name”. Type in Keck Graduate Institute and click enter. Then click on waive coverage.

  • The deadline to submit the waiver is September 14, 2020.

  • Once you complete the online waiver form, you’ll be prompted to a screen that will notify you whether your waiver was accepted or denied. If your waiver was approved you will get an email confirmation. If denied, you will get an email with instructions on the appeals process.

  • If you do not complete the waiver for the student health insurance plan before the deadline (September 14, 2020) you will automatically be charged. Domestic students will be charged $6,173 and receive full coverage for the 2020-2021 academic year. For more information on the health insurance coverage, please click here.

  • If you lose your health insurance plan, please contact Andrea Mozqueda at amozqueda@kgi.edu to discuss next steps.

  • Please allow 5-7 business days for Student Accounts to apply the fee waiver to your account.

  • Regardless of your health insurance coverage, all current students can utilize Student Health Services and Monsour Counseling and Psychological Services. Some fees may be charged for services at Student Health Services depending upon the type of treatment. Students are responsible for submitting medical claims to their insurance company directly.
