Ellie Okada is an international scholar with 30 years of academic experience researching and teaching management and governance. She was a tenured full professor at Yokohama National University, and later worked as a visiting scholar at Harvard’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and Columbia Business. To identify organizational problems of precision medicine, she founded the Boston Cancer Policy Institute, a noncommercial research institute that studies management and governance aspects of translational sciences. She has also served as an academic expert to the OECD, contract researcher to a global pharmaceutical company, and at Brigham and Women’s Hospital helped develop a post-trial access guidance document used by leading global pharma companies.
