Dr. Joshua Morris was hired on August 1, 2023, as the Associate Dean of Educational Effectiveness for the Henry E. Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences (Riggs School).
As Associate Dean, Dr. Morris leads efforts related to academic accreditation, academic program performance, and institutional research, each to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of Riggs programs. Dr. Morris also serves as KGI’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) to the WASC Senior Colleges and University Commission (WSCUC).
Dr. Morris came to KGI from Azusa Pacific University (APU), where he most recently served as the Interim Associate Provost of Educational Effectiveness and Professor of Biology. During his nearly twenty-year tenure at APU, he held numerous academic and administrative positions including Assistant Chair of Biology and Chemistry, Honors Faculty Fellow, Faculty Fellow in Faculty Evaluation, Faculty Moderator, and Director of Institutional Research.
Dr. Morris received a B.S. in Biology from California State Polytechnic Institute, Pomona and earned his Ph.D. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
His research expertise focuses on neural and sensory development and regeneration.
