As co-founder and chairman of BioCentury, Karen Bernstein oversees the provision of business-oriented information services to a global audience of life science executives and investors from offices in the U.S. and Europe. Offerings include the multi-media BioCentury platform, translational science journal BioCentury Innovations, weekly compendium BioCentury Week in Review, and web-based news outlet BioCentury Extra.
Notable honors include Bernstein’s 2005 induction into the Biotechnology Hall Fame, awarded for her lifetime contribution to the biotech community, and a Special Recognition Award presented at the American Liver Foundation’s Salute to Excellence in 2007, honoring her outstanding contribution to biotechnology and medical innovation.
Bernstein, who has been writing and publishing on biotechnology topics since 1987, holds a PhD in political science from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Arts in politics and history from Brandeis University. She served for many years as a member of the Brandeis University Science Advisory Council.
