Annual Fire Safety and Security Report (AFSSR)

The Office of Student Services at KGI prepares the Annual Fire Safety and Security Report (AFSSR), to comply with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), using information maintained by Human Resources, Campus Security Authorities (CSAs), Campus Safety, information provided by Residence Life and Claremont Police Department. Each of these offices provides updated policy information and crime data. As a part of the Claremont University Consortium, KGI is required to distribute a notice of the availability of this Annual Fire Safety and Security Report (AFSSR) by October 1 of each year, to all members of the KGI community

Title IX

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) prohibits sex (gender-based) discrimination and harassment in educational programs and activities at institutions that receive federal financial funding. Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) is committed to providing students with learning and working environments free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. KGI has designated a Title IX Coordinator and Five Deputy Coordinators to assist our community regarding discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. A full copy of KGI’s Sexual Discrimination, Harassment, and Misconduct Policy can be found here.

LiveSafe

LiveSafe has partnered with The Claremont Colleges to provide safety-related communication via a campus safety app linked to a cloud-based command dashboard. This app allows our students to share information with friends and safety officials about sexual assault, mental health issues, and violence—preventing incidents before they occur. Download the LiveSafe app.

Everbridge Alert System

The Claremont Colleges use Everbridge Alert System to notify students, faculty, and staff when emergencies occur. Notices are sent via email, text messages, and voice messages. Students are registered for Everbridge Alerts automatically through our IT department who downloads and updates the information everyday via our student management system. Students are encouraged to keep updated contact information on file with the Registrar’s Office. Staff and Faculty are registered during their onboarding process through our Human Resources Department. Staff/Faculty may contact Brittany Raygoza at Brittany_Raygoza@kgi.edu to update their contact information.
