The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Program
The SURE program for undergraduate research in biotechnology and bioengineering at Keck Graduate Institute provides undergraduate students the opportunity for cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research in the areas of applied molecular and cellular biology, bioengineering, computational biology, as well as exposure to related ethics and business topics.
The program is appropriate for motivated undergraduate students majoring in biology, chemistry, engineering, or related disciplines. One of the program goals is to promote the success of women and underrepresented minorities in science and engineering.
- Program dates: June 5, 2017 to August 11, 2017
- Application deadline: March 1, 2017
Thanks to the generous grant support from The Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation, each SURE participant will receive a $500 scholarship. The SURE program is not an academic degree program and does not charge participants for their summer research experience at KGI. Therefore, the $500 scholarship is considered taxable income, and each participant may receive an IRS 1099 form.
