Students are eligible to enter the MS program during its 2nd year, after completing the one-year Postbaccalaureate Pre-PA Certificate at KGI.
Pre-health students in KGI’s postbac programs may also pursue a master’s degree during the glide year when applying to PA school. After the first year in the postbac program, you are enrolled in KGI’s Master of Science (MS) in Applied Life Sciences program the second year. You have the option of selecting from five different concentrations in the MS program (listed below).
If you are interested in pursuing your master’s degree, apply for the MS program and select “Yes” when asked on the application when asked to apply for the pre-health track.
Students in the MS program are required to complete a total of 54.0 units comprised of:
Core Core Science Courses – 12.0 units are offered in the following formats:
Professional Development Courses – 3.0 units
Advanced and General Technical Electives
All MS students are required to complete additional units of any KGI courses, 300-level or 400-level to achieve the required 54.0 unit total.
MS students have an option of selecting one of six concentrations offered as part of the program:
Capstone Projects: Each concentration requires completion of 12.0 units of a capstone project which can be a Thesis in Translational Research, Thesis in Clinical Research, Thesis in Public Health, or a TMP.
